Best Coffee in Williamsburg

Before going to New York, I heavily researched Coffee Shops because the coffee scene is very dense. There is a coffee shop on almost every corner. I knew I was going to need a coffee itinerary in order to get to the places I wanted. I decided to venture out of Manhattan on a recent trip and these were some of the best coffee shops that I visisted in Williamsburg.

SEY Coffee

SEY Coffee is everything a coffee shop should be. It is about the experience of what drinking delicious coffee can be. Although there is a policy of limited technology, the meticulous crafting of drinks creates an atmosphere that is focused on the main attraction.

For aesthetics, there is a calmness present due to the design of the shop. When visiting various coffee shops in New York City, I am in awe of how many bring in natural light. Depending on where you are, sometimes getting coffee can feel like you are in a dungeon. At SEY, you feel a privacy that doesn’t exist at a lot of New York coffee shops.

When ordering, the menu is as straightforward as they come. This will not be a coffee shop where you can find 10 different type of lattes. They are going to focus on the craft. You will have the choice of drip coffee, iced, or espresso with milk. However, they do offer a Mocha if you are looking for something sweet, as well as various different Teas, both hot and iced. I had the iced coffee which I would definitely recommend.

Three Legged Cat

Having just visited SEY Coffee before going to Three Legged Cat, the atmosphere was completely switched. In comparison to SEY Coffee, I would recommend going to Three Legged Cat coffee if you are looking to get work done. There are plenty of two seat tables, which is perfect to focus at while enjoying a good cup of coffee.

I know that based on their website, they frequent many roasters. Unfortunately, I forget to ask when I was there. Whichever roaster they used the day that I went, was an excellent choice as my cappuccino was wonderful.

If you have time, I would recommend stopping next door at the coffee supply store called: KL5 Coffee. It is not too common to find a store that has the best coffee equipment on the market all in one physical location.

Devoción

I first discovered Devocion Coffee about seven years ago when I visited NYC and took the train to Williamsburg. Since then, it has grown to 7 locations throughout New York City.

Although I have visited some of their other locations, I would recommend the Williamsburg location if you are trying Devocion for the first time. At the Williamsburg location, there are plenty of places to sit. Most importantly, the Vibe is the best at this one as well. All of the Devocion coffee shops have a tree aesthetic that contributes to the tropical atmosphere. In addition, this location has a skylight that brings in natural light, creating a warm atmosphere to enjoy your coffee.

Devocion has a business mantra that their coffee goes from farm to your cup in about 10 days. I will say that statement feels accurate, as each coffee that I have had at Devocion has felt as great as the previous one. Devocion seems to be the most consistent coffee shop, in comparison to other NYC coffee shops with multiple locations. I had a flat white when I went, but you cannot go wrong with the cappuccino or latte there.
