This last month and a half has been intense. Luckily, Fall is coming up and I feel that the summer rush will start to simmer. Here are a few thoughts on both the past and approaching new season.

Graduate School

For those that do not know, I am currently a graduate student. So, with work, blogging, and school, it can make it difficult to accomplish everything effectively.  This past semester, I took a full course load, so it became a little overwhelming at times over the summer. I tend to leave these aspects off the The Coffee Fella because I think there is more to share than that, but I thought it would be good to give some backstory about what goes on in my life.

I don’t know about y’all, but I feel that my routines tend to fall out of pace in the summer time. Fall usually helps bring me back on course. Please comment below if you have a specific season where you are more focused and organized.

Perspective

While my blog tends to shy away from personal opinion, I cannot help but comment on the state of our world and current events. The hurricane and flooding in Houston and gulf coast, political in-fighting, threats from overseas, and now another potential deadly hurricane on the horizon really cause me to take a step back and evaluate what is truly important in life.  Although we can get consumed with our own daily struggles, as I have this last summer, it is important to maintain perspective.

I feel that sometimes we talk about these issues as if they don’t affect real people. We need to make sure, not only in times like these, but in general, to always keep our political opinions separate from what is actually happening to individuals affected.

It is important that we keep perspective in times like these and focus on others, not whether a state is red or blue.

Fall

Fall is my favorite season, so I am really looking forward to that. The weather gets cooler, the food is richer, and even more important, basketball and football come back! I could not want anything more than that. I would love to hear about certain fall activities that you all participate in. Comment below what you look forward to doing every Fall season.

Thank you for reading!

I love fall & winter. I always feels so full of energy & life (not just because football season is back, although that has a lot to do with it). I am new to dallas and looking forward to exploring the city in my favorite scarf w/ an awesome cup of coffee. I adore how this season tends to bring everything back into alignment.
So much going on in this world, people focus more on others during these seasons. I long for it to carry over but the birth of spring often brings a dormant season for compassion and a giving spirit for many people.
